What We’re Looking For

Tech-Enabled Solutions

We accept B2B startups whose offering is driven by digital technology.  We’re talking SaaS, apps, analytics, bots, AI, IoT, cyber security…the sky is the limit.


Data is an integral part of your business.  You seek to capture, understand and utilize this data to make better decisions and create more value for your customers.  We like this.

Solid Team

We value the team over all else.  We look for the right people with the right mix of skills and experience for their particular business.  We discourage solo teams and do not accept teams without a tech co-founder or on-staff developer.


Forgive the poker metaphor, but you’re all in.  Your business and this program are your life.  We require at least one of the founders be full time to the business and on-site, but we prefer the whole team.

Market Opportunity

We expect teams who are market experts and are operating in a market with opportunity.  ‘We have no competitors’ won’t cut it.


Highly scalable business models only. We love all entrepreneurs, but this program is for technology solutions with fast implementation, easy adoption, large customer base.

Sizable Market

One factor of being an investable company means a sizable customer market where the earnings potential is at least in the tens of millions of dollars.  Larger is better, but you better know the market and how you calculate this.


You’re going to be told your ‘baby is ugly.’  Can you handle it?  The best entrepreneurs can take critical feedback and use it to improve, so you better be coachable.

Problem Worth Solving

We expect that you will have done some customer interviews and problem validation to prove that this problem is real, it’s worth solving (you can make money), and it’s the right time to solve it.

UpTech Program Tracks

UpTech provides invaluable connections for our startups.  One of those connections is with potential customers.  Our Corporate Partner Program provides a direct connection with regional corporations. This means access to industry insight, mentor expertise and potential customers.  In turn, the corporations get access to early-stage startups to help solve their most pressing challenges.

Despite the introduction of tracks, our program remains open to B2B startups across all industries.

UpTech 7 Tracks

UpTech is again partnering with St. Elizabeth Healthcare to aid in the selection of several startups for our seventh cohort. St. Elizabeth, one of the region’s most respected and technologically advanced medical providers has a strong desire to enhance their innovation initiatives by working with startups.  They consider health tech a focus; however, they are also highly interested in innovations focused on patient experience and facility management.

The best things are started in garages.

The Application Process

  • Build Your Profile

    We use the website to manage our program's application process. Get started today by creating an account for your business, yourself and your co-founders.

  • Apply on F6S

    This is your opportunity to make your case so make it good. We also require a brief video to accompany your application.

  • Meet UpTech

    We encourage our applicants to take advantage of our public info sessions to ask questions about the program and for us to get to know you better.

  • Interviews

    Interviews will be conducted on a rolling basis throughout our selection process. We will contact you through F6S to setup these meetings.

  • Cohort Selection

    Final selection will take place in late June. Finalists will be expected to deliver a basic investor-style pitch and field Q&A from our investment committee.
