One thing startups always need: connections to potential customers.
We are partnering with St. Elizabeth Healthcare for the second year in a row to create UpTech 7’s Health Tech Track.
“The UpTech accelerator program brings in new companies that help us solve problems in a potentially more disruptive way.” said Matt Hollenkamp, Vice President, Marketing/Communications and PR at St. Elizabeth Healthcare.
St. Elizabeth, one of the region’s most respected and technologically advanced medical providers, has a strong desire to enhance their innovation initiatives by working with startups. Startups will be able to leverage industry insight and mentor expertise while working with St. Elizabeth.
“We see UpTech as a key partner that we leverage to stay on top of Digital, Healthcare, and Consumer trends. At St. Elizabeth, we know the benefit UpTech brings to Northern Kentucky,” said Hollenkamp, “therefore, we make an effort to partner with startups as a key way to develop a vibrant workforce in NKY.”
So what kind of startups are we looking for? Startups that provide solutions for the business of healthcare. Solution examples include innovations in patient experience, management of facilities/resources, way finding, healthcare marketing, in-home care, etc. Solutions we are not including this year are any that would require FDA approval with clinical trials. We and St. Elizabeth value these solutions; however, given the short run nature of our program we have decided to make this distinction for UpTech 7.
UpTech introduced the UpTech Corporate Partner Program in 2017. The program provides startups with a direct connection to regional corporations while providing corporations with access to powerful innovations and startup methodology. UpTech’s goal is to have a specific industry track for each cohort and to invest in 1-2 startups in that industry. The remainder of the cohort will be selected based upon the standard criteria with no direct industry requirement.
“I’m really looking forward to UpTech’s continued work with the team at St. Elizabeth as we partner to bring more exciting innovations to St. Elizabeth and the region.” says JB Woodruff, Managing Director, UpTech.
